It has been an exciting week! I had my health presentation today and our final ACM meeting for the semester. For my health presentation, I teamed up with Tommy who is one of Joe's friends. Tommy usually comes over and plays Warcraft 3 with us. So Tommy and I decided to do it on relationships. Our textbook talked mostly about dating relationships and since neither of us have ever really had a girlfriend, we talked to our teacher and he said he would be interested in hearing about giving and taking in relationships. So after doing some research, we met on Wednesday night and put together our presentation and essay. It took us until ten to get everything done, but we managed to create a great presentation. I think the thing that was reaffirmed most for me in our presentation was not to give up on relationships. Sometimes relationships go through hard times and there may be a point that I feel like it's sometimes better to let them slide and not put in a bunch of effort. I don't always see something being returned when I put more effort in and it seems like it would be easier just to minimize my effort and concentrate on something else. That's how relationships fall apart. When someone stops giving to the relationship, then it loses support. For the last few weeks, I've been thinking about everyone back home and how much fun it will be to go back and see them again. It'll be weird seeing everyone and how everthing has changed. My relationships are still there, but they'll need time and energy to grow. I'll need to spend time to catch up on everything and energy to see what everyone has been doing. It'll be fun times!
Our ACM meeting went well today! Our plan was to have a panel of graduates come and talk about what life is like after graduation, and give out the outstanding senior awards. After emailing about 10 graduates, we only had one show up and one say he'll email us answers. It turned out very well though! The grad student who showed up, Kevin Fuhst, had a pretty interesting story to tell and I feel like everyone learned alot by attending.
